Weather Tips/ Consejos para el Clima
Hi
parents!
As
cold
weather
approaches
us,
we
at
Oakdale
school
thought
it
would
be
good
to
share
some
ideas
on
how
to
dress
your
child
for
the
weather.
It
is
good
to
dress
in
layers.
More
layers
help
keep
body
heat
in.
If
the
child
gets
too
hot,
the
layers
can
be
taken
off
but
we
cannot
add
layers
if
they
are
cold.
It
is
important
to
wear
long
pants
and
socks,
as
well
as
a
coat,
hat,
gloves,
and
scarf.
Heat
escapes
from
the
head
the
fastest
so
it
is
extremely
important
for
a
hat
to
be
worn.
When
the
snow
comes,
children
should
wear
snow
pants
and
boots,
to
keep
their
clothes
from
getting
wet
during
recess,
in
addition
to
all
the
other
layers
mentioned
above.
Below
is
a
link
of
coats
and
snow
pants
you
could
buy
to
help
keep
your
child
warm.
This
is
just
to
show
you
the
type
of
coat
and
snow
pants
that
work
best
for
IL
weather.
Insulated
jackets:
A
jacket
with
an
insulating
fill
is
your
warmest
option,
and
choosing
one
involves
deciding
between
down
and
synthetic
insulations
3-in-1
jackets:
These
jackets
combine
a
rainproof
outer
shell
(most
have
waterproof/breathable
fabrics)
with
an
insulated
liner.
The
liner
jackets
might
be
made
of
fleece,
or
have
an
insulating
down
or
synthetic
fill.
The
most
versatile
outerwear
option,
it
allows
kids
to
wear
each
piece
separately
or
both
together.
Snow
pants:
Just
like
an
insulated
jacket,
snow
pants
feature
a
wind-
and
water-resistant
or
waterproof
shell
with
an
insulating
down
or
synthetic
fill
inside.
Hola
padres!
A
medida
que
se
acerca
el
clima
frío,
en
la
escuela
de
Oakdale
pensamos
que
sería
bueno
compartir
algunas
ideas
sobre
cómo
vestir
a
su
hijo
para
el
clima.
Es
bueno
vestirse
en
capas.
Más
capas
ayudan
a
mantener
el
calor
corporal.
Si
el
niño
tiene
demasiado
calor,
se
pueden
quitar
las
capas,
pero
no
podemos
agregar
capas
si
tiene
frío.
Es
importante
llevar
pantalones
largos
y
calcetines,
además
de
abrigo,
gorro,
guantes
y
bufanda.
El
calor
escapa
de
la
cabeza
más
rápido,
por
lo
que
es
extremadamente
importante
usar
un
sombrero.
Cuando
llega
la
nieve,
los
niños
deben
usar
pantalones
y
botas
para
la
nieve,
para
evitar
que
su
ropa
se
moje
durante
el
recreo,
además
de
todas
las
demás
capas
mencionadas
anteriormente.
A
continuación
se
muestra
un
enlace
de
abrigos
y
pantalones
para
la
nieve
que
puede
comprar
para
ayudar
a
mantener
abrigado
a
su
hijo.
Esto
es
solo
para
mostrarle
el
tipo
de
abrigo
y
pantalones
para
la
nieve
que
funcionan
mejor
para
el
clima
de
Illinois.
Chaquetas
aislantes:
una
chaqueta
con
relleno
aislante
es
tu
opción
más
cálida,
y
elegir
una
implica
decidir
entre
aislamientos
sintéticos
y
de
plumón.
Chaquetas
3
en
1:
Estas
chaquetas
combinan
una
capa
exterior
impermeable
(la
mayoría
tiene
telas
impermeables/transpirables)
con
un
forro
aislante.
Las
chaquetas
interiores
pueden
estar
hechas
de
forro
polar
o
tener
un
relleno
sintético
o
de
plumón
aislante.
La
opción
de
ropa
exterior
más
versátil,
permite
a
los
niños
usar
cada
pieza
por
separado
o
ambas
juntas.
Pantalones
para
la
nieve:
Al
igual
que
una
chaqueta
aislante,
los
pantalones
para
la
nieve
cuentan
con
una
capa
resistente
al
agua
y
al
viento
o
impermeable
con
un
relleno
aislante
o
sintético
en
el
interior.
